Drafting Assistant (Part-time) - Updated 1/15/24 - Continuing

Central Coast ADU & Remodel, a rapidly growing residential design company, seeks a part-time Drafting Assistant at our company headquarters in Ventura, California.  The required work hours are flexible and will generally occur during our operating business hours of 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.  This is an in-office position (no remote work), so candidates should be local, or willing to relocate.  The recipient of this position will perform various duties for the company including: 

• assisting with drafting of residential floor plans and property site plans (by hand, and digitally using industry-standard software);

• assisting with architectural plan production;

• assisting with design of conceptual floor plans and production of conceptual artwork and photographs.

Secondary duties will be in support of development of building designs, or miscellaneous in nature, including: 

• assisting with on-site property measurements;

• conducting project feasibility research and property research;

• assisting with project permit management;

• other duties as assigned. 

 

This is an excellent entry-level position for college students or new professionals seeking experience in an established drafting firm.  No prior industry work experience is required and training will be provided; however, thorough training/education in, and working knowledge of, industry-standard architectural design software is required.

Rate of Pay:  $16.00 - $18.00* per hour (depending on experience)

*Eligible for pay raise after 3-month probationary period.

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent 

• Intermediate-level experience with Revit for drafting and building design

• Intermediate-level experience with AutoCAD for drafting and building design

• Working knowledge of G-mail and Google Drive systems

• Basic math skills

• Reliable transportation

Desired:

• Experience with residential drafting and/or design

• Experience with onsite property measurement

• Experience hand drafting site/floor plans onsite

• Experience reading architectural and structural plans

• Knowledge of State and local building codes/ordinances

• Familiarity with local municipal permitting processes
